Ljfw :: Matic Veler

Due to insanely busy schedule this time around i sadly don't have the time to visit all of Ljubljana fashion week shows, but for Matic Veler i just had to make the effort. Of course, it was well worth it! I was /as always/ mesmerized by his understanding of three dimentional space and use of texture.
The volumes of his garments are very clean but where he explodes with creativity is the details. Geometric prints (yes, he designed the prints as well) and organic laser cut shapes, folded into true sculptures is where his genius really comes through in it's best form.
The color palette of nudes, blacks, deep reds and metallic gold pulls the collection together and makes most pieces very wearable. Another interesting aspect of the garments is the illusion of nakedness that implies to the idea of clothes being essentially sculptures which are framing the body.
I have to say photos don't do the garments justice as they are three dimentonal masterpieces, made to be viewed from all angles and that is why i'm super happy i got to see them in person. Also, i have to say i loved the whole pace of the event and simple yet cool scenography. Ljubljana Fashion Week keeps getting better and better with each season :)
